Saatvik During Covid-19

How We are Keeping Our Interior Designing Business Up and Running During Covid-19

Amidst a lot of chaos right now caused due to COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing is what most businesses are mandating. When everything has been shut how can interior designers, who are accustomed to face-to-face interactions with clients and the tactile nature of dealing with product, continue to conduct business as usual while working with remote teams?

Interior Designing Business

While there’s a lot of uncertainty and negative emotions swirling around the world right now, we want to use this episode to share some things that we have implemented to manage working remotely and keep our business up and running during this novel coronavirus pandemic.

  • Maintaining Social Distance and Meeting Clients Virtually

It has been really interesting to see how quickly our office has been adjusting to what has become the new normal. At Saatvik- we’ve been working together and actively utilizing the various technologies available to us to keep the momentum going. Since we are aware of the fact social distancing, we have been using Microsoft Teams, VPN, and Dropbox to create a surprisingly smooth working environment and also making sure that we are in constant touch with our clients.

  • Translating 2D and 3D Imaging to Reality

Since we have trained all our teammates to be nimble problem solvers. These professional and personal characteristics and qualities are serving quite well during such crisis. Our team continues to work collaboratively with our clients and design partners. While we are working remotely, we are more connected than ever. We know how hard it is to sell something that doesn’t physically exist; and it can prove to be a challenging task to translate our designs into reality. In that case we are providing video assets of our products to bring it to life in new and dynamic ways. Through video demonstration our clients can get a better virtual sense of how the piece responds. Color reads on various computer screens may differ, a client may view a product differently than it actually appears in person. To not let this create a problem for us in future we either use the same monitor display settings same as the client is using to align colors better. Or we just suggest the same color swatch available on the web that we both can agree upon.

  • Space Planning Virtually

As we are all aware in-person walk-throughs are impossible right now, and we cannot deny the tactile nature of design at times proves difficult to translate through an online platform. So we ask our clients to document space. While many of them are not sure about how to measure precisely, that’s where our experts use their innovative ways to team up with them and teach them, step by step. Through online channel we conduct video meetings and ask our clients to walk around with their cell phone cameras and tell them what to capture. Though it’s bit challenging to design a space without ever being in it, but it’s definitely not impossible!

At Saatvik, we remain as committed as ever to sharing our innovative and unique Interior Designing solutions with as many people as possible. But we also want to do our part in helping (flatten the curve) of COVID- 19 and in that case we are available virtually and our designers are still working and virtual consultation is a viable option to stay in touch with our clients to keep projects progressing during these social distancing times.

Best wishes to you all as we hope you all get through this ok, stay safe.
